Trita Parsi

Dr. Trita Parsi is Executive Vice President of the Quincy Institute, promoting a U.S. foreign policy of restraint and diplomacy. Washingtonian has listed him among Washington’s 25 most influential foreign policy voices each year since 2021. He won the 2010 Grawemeyer Award for Ideas Improving World Order and has written four books, including Losing an Enemy: Obama, Iran, and the Triumph of Diplomacy (Yale, 2017). His work blends scholarship with practice, including service at Sweden’s Mission to the UN on Iraq and Afghanistan. Born in Iran and raised in Sweden, he earned a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins SAIS, co-founded and led the National Iranian American Council, and has taught at Georgetown, NYU, and Johns Hopkins. His analysis appears in the Washington Post, New York Times, and Financial Times, and he is a frequent guest on CNN, BBC, NPR, and Al Jazeera.
